2024 STUDIOcc one-day workshop 2 - May 25
Water Colour and Stitch ONE_DAY Workshop with Tutor Anne-Maree Kelly
Textile techniques are being increasingly utilised by fine artists in their work. As fibre artists we have known about the joy of using needle and thread to create artworks. This workshop will guide you to explore the skills needed to produce abstract or semi-abstract artworks on paper using watercolour, and then to embellish these using needle and thread.
Materials will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring any of their own supplies. This will allow you to investigate uses for the things in your stash.
This workshop uses watercolour paper. Some of the techniques may be transferable to fabric and these will be discussed but not taught in this workshop. We will also be using hand stitching in this workshop, though the technique is transferable to machine stitching, including free motion stitching.
STUDIOcc is extremely fortunate to secure this contemporary textile art workshop!
